Myrtle H Ledbetter, 104, passed away on Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at her daughter's home.  A native of Cleveland County she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Newton and Leona Northy Harrill.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rex Ledbetter; daughter, Elizabeth Ledbetter Lampe; and all of her brothers and sisters.  Myrtle was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.  She loved flowers, gardening, traveling and her church work.  The legacy of her Christian Life has had a tremendous influence on her family, her church family, and many friends, as well as strangers and anyone in need.

Myrtle is survived by her daughters, Jo Anne Hopkins of Fort Valley, GA and Peggy Parker and husband Floyd of Gastonia, NC; sons, Leon Ledbetter and wife Gertrude of Shelby and Lemuel Ledbetter and wife Mary of Shelby;  grandchildren, Dollie Jackson, Crystal Biddix, Joel Ledbetter, Calvin Ledbetter, Ricky Ledbetter, Kelly Ramsey, Sherese Rue, Lisa Purkey, Leslie VanPelt, Dean Hoyle, Rex Lampe, Lisa McMurray; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Flint Hill Baptist Church.  The Rev. Shane Kirby, Rev. Keith Dixon, Rev. Floyd Parker will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00pm prior to the service at the church life enrichment center.  Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.  At other times the family will be at the home of the grandson Calvin Ledbetter, 1515 Maple Springs Church Road, Shelby.
