What: Clifford's Uptown Hounds 5K & Festival, Santa & Grinch Photos

More Info: 5K begins in the morning. Arrive early and bring your running buddy (dogs welcome!) Join Clifford's Army Rescue Extravaganza as we launch the holiday season with a celebration that blends giving, community, and canine cheer! Lace up for our Uptown Hounds 5K. Awards given by age group, and yes, your pup can join you on the run! Feast at our food trucks, including the mouthwatering goodness of TJ's Hamburgers! Stroll through unique vendor booths and start your Christmas shopping with handmade and heartfelt gifts. Groove to the sounds of DJ Angie, spinning festive beats throughout the day. Don't miss the best Santa & Grinch photos in town, at RollOver Pets, 105 W Warren St, Shelby. Santa & Grinch Photo Sessions: 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm. These photos make perfect holiday gifts. Bring your four-legged kids and make a memory that lasts! Every part of this festival supports dogs who've suffered from abuse, neglect, injury, and abandonment. Your presence helps fuel the mission to heal and find homes for those who need us most. Let's run, eat, shop, dance, and love. All for the pups who deserve a second chance.

What: Hope for Christmas for Cleveland County Kids
When: 4:30 pm, November 29.
Where: Lawndale Piedmont Park, 117 Piedmont Dr, Lawndale, NC.
More Info: Chicken plates start at 4:30/$12 or donation. Parade starts at 6:00 pm. Tree lighting and Santa promptly 7:00 pm after parade.

Chess: Monday, November 24, 5:30 - 6:30pm. Join us at the Cleveland County Library System, 104 Howie Dr., Shelby, NC. For a fun evening of chess. There are players at all abilities and age groups. Everyone is welcome! If you want to learn or have played for years this meeting is for you. See you there.


Nar-Anon Support Group: Meets 6:30 pm weekly on Tuesdays at the First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC. Nar-Anon is a support group for those affected by someone else's drug addiction. We meet in the classroom off Dale St. between Sumter & Campbell St. Park on the side of the church or in the alley. Al-Anon Support Groups: Al-Anon Family Support Groups support those who are affected by someone else's drinking and drug use.
