More Info: Broad River Genealogical Society is having an open house and Ribbon Cutting at our new building with a tour of the building and light refreshments. We will be welcoming John Skardon a research librarian at York Co. Library. He will share with us on September 14, 2025 at 3pm how to Resolve Conflicting Evidence when researching family history. Please feel free to join us for a very informative discussion and enjoy our new building.
Saturday, SEPTEMBER 13 What: Diaper Run Charity/Fundraiser When: 3:30 for Bikes. 4:30 for event, September 13. Where: Shelby Mission Camp, 302 Sharpton Dr., Shelby, NC. More Info: Diaper Run is a charity motorcycle ride collecting Diapers for local foster care families and other families facing hardships. The ride will start at 616 S Morgan St and end at Shelby Mission Camp (302 Sharpton Dr). At the finish line there will be live music by The Justin Corbett Band, free food, and tons of door prizes. This is a collaborative event with The One More One Less Project. Registration is required to participate.
What: 2nd Annual Casar Park Craft Fair When: 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. September 13. Where: Casar Park, 123 Deviney St., Casar, NC. More Info: Various vendors selling a variety of local hand made products. Proceeds go to the Casar Park maintenance.

More Info: Celebrate National Hug Your Hound Day with Clifford's Army Rescue! A heartwarming afternoon of wine, wagging tails, and unconditional love! We'll be celebrating National Hug Your Hound Day, a special day created to honor the incredible bond between humans and their canine companions. It's a reminder to slow down, get on their level, and show our pups just how much they mean to us. Whether it's a hug, a belly rub, or a quiet moment together, this day is all about them. Clifford's Army Rescue will be there with some of our adorable, adoptable CARE pups, ready for hugs, snuggles, and maybe even a forever home. Whether you're looking to adopt or just want to share some love, we'll even hold your drink while you pet the pups! Why? Because every dog deserves a hug, and maybe a home. Awards Include:, Best in Show, People's Choice, Best Muscle Car, Most Original. Best Motorcycle. Fuel up at TJ's Hamburgers, serving up the best smash burgers around! Live music by Angie Cannon will keep the vibes rolling all day long. All proceeds benefit Clifford's Army Rescue, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving the dogs others overlook, the injured, the sick, the feral, the frightened, and the abandoned. Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 24 What: Annual Paul Porter Golf Tournament When: Tee Time starts 10:00 am, lunch at noon, September 24. Where: River Bend Golf Club, 3005 Long Wood Dr., Shelby, NC. More Info: The Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association is sponsoring the annual Paul Porter Golf Tournament. We are looking for 4 player teams and hole sponsors. Reunion Luncheon for KMHS Class of 1971: The Kings Mountain High School Class of 1971 will have a Reunion Luncheon on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:30 am. Class photo will be taken at 12:00 Noon. This informal luncheon will be held at Italian Gardens & Pizzeria, 213 E. King Street, Kings Mountain, NC. The meal is Dutch treat.
