Lincoln County Parks & Recreation, www.lincolncounty.org, is now offering Pickleball and Senior Chair Volleyball at Block Smith Gym, 130 Rhodes St., Lincolnton, NC. Pickleball (open to everyone) is being held on Thursdays from 10:00am - 12:00pm while Senior Chair Volleyball is being held on Tuesdays from 10:00am - 12:00pm. They are also offering Pickleball at East Lincoln Community Center, 8160 Optimist Club Rd., Denver, NC, on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00-3:00pm beginning Thursday, November 10, 2016. Lost Playwrights, Henderson

The Foothills Community Choir
The Foothills Community Choir will sponsor a Gospel Sing on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 6:00pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Shelby NC. Southern Sounds Quartet will also be providing music during the evening. A love offering will be taken to benefit patients of the Cleveland-Rutherford Kidney Association.
Clifford's Army Rescue, Shelby
Cllifford's Army Rescue will hold the Clifford's Army Annual Santa Pics and Bake Sale at Tractor Supply Co., 1655 E. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC, on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 10:00am until 4:00pm. $5 pics with Santa printed on site. $10 to email file. Best homemade desserts in town. Get your holiday desserts the week before Thanksgiving. All proceeds will go to help the abandoned animals in our area. Want to contribute some baked goodies? Ellenboro's 25th Annual Fiddlers' and Bluegrass Convention will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 6:30pm, at Ellenboro School Gymtorium, 813 Piney Mountain Church Rd., Ellenboro, NC. CDs may be offered for sale. Fiddlers' Convention Admission, $10; children under ten, free. $400 1st Place Band; $200 2nd Place Band; $100 3rd Place Band; $40 1st Place each instrument and vocal; $20 2nd Place each instrument and vocal; $15 3rd Place each instrument and vocal. Rutherford County Toy Run
The Rutherford County Toy Run will be Sunday, November 20, 2016. Meet at old K-Mart next to Denny's at 12:30pm, depart at 1:30pm. Ride will end at the National Guard Armory. Food served for all participants. 50/50 drawing will be held at the Armory and Door prizes to be given away! Hosted By: Prior Moose Lodge Members and Cleveland County Independent Bikers.
Foothills Post-Polio Support Group
The Foothills Post-Polio Support Group will hold their meeting on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 6:00pm in the conference room of the Life Enrichment Center of Shelby, NC. The conference room is located at the back of the building. The center is located off Hwy 18 North on Life Enrichment Blvd, just north of Cornerstone Dentistry. Dianne Garner will share her pictures, art and information on her two trips to Australia. Each person attending should bring his/her own meal. Drinks- coffee and water - will be provided. Community Table Thanksgiving Meal, Shelby
The Community Table Thanksgiving Meal is a community effort to bring all areas of the Shelby community together in unity for a shared meal and fellowship. The meal will take place in two locations simultaneously at 4:00pm, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in some of our community's high need areas. Our goal is to have as many Shelby area businesses, churches, organizations, groups and individuals embrace this idea, not just to serve and provide, but also to come together and enjoy a meal with one another. The two locations are: Jefferson Park and South Side Flea Market. We are excited to have our Shelby Police department participating and attending the meals! The need: Commitments from businesses, churches, groups, and individuals to provide food, supplies and manpower to make this meal happen for our community! Word of Deliverance Assemblies, Inc. R.O.T.W. Reaching Outside the Walls Ministries is sponsoring a Free Community Thanksgiving Day Event, Thursday, November 24, 2016, 9:00am - 11:00am, at the Cool Springs Gym, 400 W. Main St., Forest City, NC. Ambassador Baptist College, Lattimore
The public is cordially invited to kick off the Christmas season with Ambassador Baptist College's annual presentation of Handel's Messiah. On Friday, November 25, 2016, and Saturday, November 26, 2016, the college chorale and selected soloists will be singing excerpts from Handel's Messiah, as well as additional Christmas selections. The doors will open each night at 6:15pm and the concert will start at 7:00pm. Both concerts will be held in the R.A. Torrey Auditorium and are free of charge. Selections include "All We Like Sheep," "For Unto Us a Child is Born," "And With His Stripes," and the world-famous Hallelujah Chorus. Please plan to come early since seating is limited. A nursery for young children will be provided. At the conclusion of the concert, a love offering will be received for the student scholarship fund. Ambassador Baptist College is a private, four-year college dedicated to training young people for the ministry. Union Elementary School Christmas Bazaar
Union Elementary School is sponsoring their first ever Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 3, 2016, 9:00-3:00. During this event over 50 vendors will be set up selling various items. Vendors include: Lularoe, It works, Matilda Jane, homemade jewelry, wreaths, baked goods and more! They also have over 50 items to raffle off. Kings Mountain Historical Museum
Kings Mountain Historical Museum - Saturday, December 3, 2016, 10am-3pm: Experience the magic of the Toys, Games and Trains exhibit, and tour the historic Barber House decorated for the holidays. Learn about the history of Christmas celebrations, and participate in traditional craft demonstrations led by 18th century costumed interpreters. Bring home your own hand-made ornaments! 3pm-5pm: City of Kings Mountain's annual Christmas Parade. 5pm-7pm: Enjoy a special "night run" of the Toys, Games & Trains exhibit, candlelight tours of the historic Barber House, and hot apple cider with cookies by the firelight. On Saturday, December 10, 2016, Santa Claus will be at the Museum during the Toys, Games & Trains exhibit to visit with the little ones. Mrs. Claus will also do a special reading of the classic 1823 children's story, "The Night Before Christmas." The museum will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm Admission to this event is FREE!
19th Annual Earl Christmas Parade
The 19th Annual Earl Christmas Parade will be held on the Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 3:00pm, rain or shine. The 2016 Theme is "Home for Christmas" celebrating the comforts and support of family, friends and neighbors in the holiday season. Renown Beach Music singer/songwriter B.J. Earl is the 2016 Parade Grand Marshal.
