Ms. Nellie Thrift, 97, of 401 North Morgan Street, Shelby, NC passed away Monday, October 25,  2010. Services were held at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston, NC. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Grover. 

Ms. Thrift was preceded in death by her parents, Dave Thrift and Rachel Hogsed Thrift; 1 nephew; and 8 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by 4 nephews, Thomas Kirkendall, John Kirkendall, Steve Kirkendall and Spencer Kirkendall.
