Mrs. Norma Jean Whitaker,  of Mooresboro, NC passed away on June 19, 2013. Services were held at Path Baptist Church, Saturday, June 22, 2013 Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her parents: James Arnold Kirk and Bertha Pearl (Cadle) Kirk; sister, Lora Agee and  son, Bobby Wayne Barbour.

She is survived by her husband, Fred J. Whitaker of the home; daughter,  Sandra K. Barbour of Shelby, NC; a son, George F. Barbour and (Mary) of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Fred Michael Whitaker and (Robin) of Mooresboro, NC; step-daughter, Mary Amanda Whitaker Mauney, Shelby, NC; step-daughter,  Martha Diane Whitaker of Shelby, NC; brother, James A. Kirk, Coal City, W. Va.; Sister: Verna Sauders of Winston Salem, NC; 10 grandchildren; and 2 greatgrandchildren.
