 Olen Joseph Walker, 73, went to be with his Lord on June 2, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.  A native of Gaston County he was the son of the late Henry and Florence Boston Walker.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Walker,  two brothers, Melvin and Hayes Walker, and two sisters, Betty Ballard and Bernice Walker. Mr. Walker served his country in the U. S. Army from 1954 to 1958.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife Lenda Moore Queen and special grandson Richard Tyler Perez of the home; five children Kay Walker Brown and husband Tony of Dallas, NC, Lynne Whitlock of Bessemer City, NC, Sherry Walker Myers and husband Richard of Gastonia, NC, Olen Walker Jr. and wife Gail of Dallas, NC, Robin Walker Pendleton and husband Tony of Clover, SC; two step-children Shelly Perez of Shelby, and Roger Queen of Caroleen, NC; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

 A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Cleveland Memorial Park.  The Rev. Josh Brown will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home.
