Outdoor Truths: Aiming Outdoorsmen Toward Christ October 10th

Each fall, most trees shed their leaves. If we look at a tree after the leaves have fallen, it looks dead. There it stands, without giving any hint as to the life that is just under its skin. There is no color, or movement, or promise by its appearance. But if we look within, we can see there is life. It may be dormant but in another season it will come alive again. This is the picture of the soul. One day this body will give up life as we know it. By all outward appearances it will look as if it is the end; no color, no movement, no promise. But just below our flesh is the soul – it is life. Our exterior may look dormant but in another season it will come alive again. It will take on a new body, one that will never decay or be destroyed. It will be everlasting. It is truly amazing to see all that God did in order to show us about Himself. He must really care for us and want us to be with Him. How tragic if we never get the message.
