Patsy Mary Helen (Cordell) Woods, age 92 of Shelby, passed Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
Born October 21, 1925 in Cleveland County, Patsy was the daughter of the late Lufton and Lola (Gambell) Cordell and was preceded in death by her husband Ted Woods, twin daughters, Glenda Kay and Linda Faye Woods, a son, Kenneth Woods, a daughter, Sandra Hamrick, and a grandson, David Dain.
She is survived by her sister, Lois Harris of Forest City, NC, a son, Alan Woods and wife Kathie of Shelby, NC, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Woods of Shelby, NC, five grandchildren, Angel Poston and husband Jeremy of Boiling Springs, NC, Gene Woods and wife Jennifer of Hollis, NC, Daniel Dain and Joseph Dain and wife Magen of Georgia, and MaryAnn Preston of Shelby, NC, nine great grandchildren, Tyler and Harley Woods, Anthony and Megan Poston, Brysen and Andrew Dain, Jessie Skelton, Autumn and Terra Preston.
Pat dedicated her life to taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class until her health declined. Pat enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading the Bible, and in later years spent time working "Word Find" books.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Paul Sorrells and Rev. Tom Runyon. Mr. and Mrs. Woods will be buried together at Cleveland Memorial Park at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers from individuals and families that donations be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 in honor of Patsy Woods.
