POLICE CHIEF ADDRESSES LIONS CLUB
“A lot of what you see is not normal policing,” he told the Lions. “The world is different today than it was 15 years ago. We’ve got to put a human face with that badge.” According to Chief Ledford, Shelby officers are cracking down on illegal drugs and illegal guns. They go to problem houses and ask how they can help. “Partnership with landlords is getting better,” he said. “We help them get better tennants.” The Shelby Department sees little turnover these days, according to Ledford. It has lost only three people in the last two and a half years. “We have 107 top notch people,’ Chief Ledford said.
