Ralph James Sain
Ralph James Sain, 89, of Bess Chapel Church Road, Cherryville, passed away Saturday, December 30 at his home.
Born in Lincoln County on June 12, 1928, he was a son of the late Frank McCoy Sain and Fannie Cleo Pruette Sain. He was a retired farmer and brick mason. Mr. Sain loved music and sang in serveral quartets and trios as well as leading several choirs. He was presently playing the guitar for Risen Church's Worship Team.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Hull; five brothers, Paul Sain, Melvin Sain, Harold Sain, Jimmie Sain, and Horace Sain and an infant brother, Buddy.
He is survived by his wife Norma Smith Sain; son, Arnold Sain and wife MariLynn of Vale; five daughters, Glenda Wise and husband, Howard, Debbie Alvarado and husband Victor, Vickie Sain, Rita Sain, and Nelta Sain all of Vale; five brothers, Hugh Sain of Lawndale, Bob Sain of Hickory, Colon Sain, Kenneth Sain, and Warren Sain all of Vale; two sisters, Dorothy Leatherman of Taylorsville and Joann Wise of Vale; ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Risen Church, Lincolnton, with the Rev. Justin Houser and Rev. James King officiating. Mr. Sain will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service.
The burial will follow service in the Hull's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
