SHELBY – Mr. Ralph Wilson McKinney Jr., 79, of 1238 New Crest Lane, died Tues. Oct. 30, 2012 at Hospice at Wendover.  A native of Pickens County, SC, he was the son of the late Ralph Sr. and Grace Looper McKinney. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War Conflict, graduated from Furman University, and retired from the US Treasury Department.  He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Thomas McKinney; and sister, Grace Ann McKinney.

SURVIVED:  He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Phyllis Castano McKinney of the home; son, Ralph W. McKinney III and wife Denise of Shelby; two daughters, Jean Grigg and husband Neal of Lawndale, Joyce Bingham and husband David of Marion; five grandchildren, Molly McKinney of Shelby, Nicole Bolin of CA, Shannon Bingham of Marion, Michael Bingham of Charlotte, Nicholas Bingham of Marion; five special caregivers, Shirley Clemons, Kiya Brown, Kristin Perkins, Brenda Resendiv, and Alice Villaflor.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES:  3pm, Thursday, at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery
