Mrs. Ray Horne Spangler, 86, of Lattimore, NC, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010. Services were held at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Double Springs Church Cemetery. 

Mrs. Spangler was preceded in death by her husband, A. Neal Spangler, Sr.; her parents, James and Hattie Jenkins Horne; 3 brothers, Fred, Howard and Everett Horne; and 6 sisters, Gladys Hopper, Janette Nanney, Elaine Phillips, Thelma Leonhardt, Margaret Horne and Merrill Battle.

She is survived by 1 son, Dr. A. Neal Spangler, Jr. and wife Joyce of Shelby; 1 daughter, Carolyn S. Brooks and husband Bill of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Jack Horne and wife Sarah of Lattimore, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Double Springs Baptist Church, 1130 Double Springs Church Road, Shelby, NC 28150; or to: Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC, 28150.
