Ray Louis Surratt, Sr., 64, of Shelby, NC, passed away on June 15, 2026, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Robert Surratt and Azelee Muldrow Surratt and was born on April 25, 1962 in Cleveland County, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Robert Surratt, Jr. and a sister Elsie Webber.

He leaves precious memories to his son, Ray Louis 'Bama' Surratt and daughter Erica Jones, both of Shelby, NC; sisters, Lillie Parks, Amanda Parks, Dorice Watson, and Fay Brown, all of Shelby, NC, and Lisa Early (Phillip) of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Hopper's Chapel Baptist Church. Burial was at Sunset Cemetery.
