Reginald Wilson "Butch" Cooke
Reginald Wilson "Butch" Cooke, 80, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on April 26, 2025 at Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC. He was born July 3, 1944 in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Espy Bingham and Lois Wilson Cooke and was preceded in death by his siblings, Espy Cooke, Marcella Cooke Morrow, Donnie Vee Cooke Conner, Peggy Cooke Yarborough, Bud Cooke, and John A. Cooke. Butch was a lifelong active member of Temple Baptist Church. He often helped out by driving the church bus for different occasions. He worked in maintenance at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain for more than 15 years, then worked at the Brian Center in Gastonia for more than 10 years before becoming disabled. Butch was always proud of the years of service he dedicated to the community of Kings Mountain as an ambulance driver for Kings Mountain Volunteer Rescue Squad. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time watching wrestling on television. Butch enjoyed keeping his mind active until the very end by working intricate jigsaw puzzles. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him.
