Rev. Harold Dean Painter



Rev. Harold Dean Painter, 74, of 209 Sardis Road, passed away Saturday, September 20th, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Hazel Painter and the son of the late Dewey and Corrie Painter. Rev. Painter was the pastor of Tabernacle of Love in Blacksburg.

In addition to his wife, Rev. Painter is survived by three daughters, Frances Massey and husband, Richard, of Spartanburg, Sandra Browning and husband, Thurmon Tate III, of Gaffney, and Patricia Lanier and husband, Richard Hall, of Gaffney; one brother, Charlie Painter, of Gaffney; one sister, Minnie Lou Keller, of Gaffney; seven grandchildren, Christopher Wallace, Chelsea Loftis, Johnny Loftis, Adam Massey, Amanda Massey, Russell Lanier, Joshua Lanier, and Ashley Lanier; and two great-grandchildren, Kylee Massey and Bryson Patterson., 

In addition to his parents, Rev. Painter was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dean Painter and a grandson, Jonathan Browning. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 22nd, 2014, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 23rd, at 1:00 pm at Tabernacle of Love with Rev. Sheila Griggs and Rev. Marvin (Petey) Durham officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Jessie Mullinax, John Dover, Richard Massey, Johnny Loftis, Chris Wallace, Thurman Tate, Flo Ramsey, and Russell Lanier will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
