Richard Frederick Harczuk
Lincolnton - Mr. Richard Frederick Harczuk, 77, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.
Richard was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on May 4, 1940 a son of the late Francis "Frank" Harczuk and Mary Tylka Harczuk. He was a former Union Vice President for the American Federation of County and Municipal Employees and was retired as supervisor of public works for Municipal Government in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Richard was a member of Bess Chapel United Methodist Church in Cherryville. He was also a member of Triple A Rod and Gun club in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Richard was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan and enjoyed old cars, country and oldies music, fishing and crabbing. He served in the National Guard and the Reserves as a tank driver.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Jerry Harczuk.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maryann Spoon Harczuk of the home; a sister, Janet Marek of Safety Harbor, Florida; nieces and nephews, Richard and Adam Harczuk; Mary Ellen Eaker; Kenneth Spoon; Maria Feinerman, Rocco E. Spoon, Jr., Donald E. Welch, Jr., Camille Hayes and Frank Harczuk, Jr.; 18 great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 10:00AM to 11:15AM at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church in Cherryville.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
