Rickey D. Blanton, age 69, of Cliffside, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his home.
Rickey was born Wednesday, September 28, 1955 in Rutherford County to the late Herman Blanton and Betty Wise. He worked for Eaton Corporation for many years and was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Rickey enjoyed working with his hands and fixing things. He also enjoyed going to flea markets and selling his knife collection along with antiques. Above all, Rickey was known for his tender heart toward others and his big heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shannon Blanton and granddaughter, Ferrin Jennings.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of forty-five years, Debbie Blanton; children, Shane Haney of Cliffside, Jacob Blanton (Becky) of Drexel, NC and Brooklyn Blanton of Shelby; brother, Joseph Wayne Blanton (Debra) of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Alexis Haney, Chance Blanton, Ellie Blanton, Justin Blanton and Brandon Hines; great grandchildren, Harper, Dottie and Hudson Jackson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday at Cliffside Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Elgin officiating. Interment will follow at Cliffside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
