Ricky James Morgan, 51, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at Atrium Health Pineville.

Born in Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of Frances Spake Randall and the late Carl Allen Morgan. He was of the Baptist faith and worked in pallet production. He was a graduate of Crest High School.

In addition to his mother, Ricky is survived by his brother, Terry Morgan; his sister, Crystal Wylie (Mike); his step-sisters, Teresa McCoy, Crystal Champion, and Angela Greene; his step-brother, Joey Randall (Stephanie); his step-mother, Anita Morgan; his nephews, Bradley Morgan, Brayden Morgan, and Nick Greene; his niece, Bethany Mathis (Jacob); and his special great-nieces, Edi and Opal Mathis.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Carl; his step-father, Steven Randall; his paternal grandparents, James and Janie Sue Morgan; and his maternal grandparents, Sarah and Jim Towery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jerry Allen and Brother Rocky Shelton officiating.

The family will be at the residence.
