Robert Clarence "Bob" Black
Lincolnton - Mr. Robert Clarence "Bob" Black, 85, of 2901 Wesleyan Church Road, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at his residence.
Bob was born in Gaston County, NC on July 15, 1929 a son of the late Clarence David Black and Faye Grigg Black. He was retired as a supervisor with Jaws of Life in Shelby and was a member of Covenant Bible Church in Lincolnton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Frances Rhyne Black; one sister, Dorothy Smith and two brothers, Charles and Bill Black.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob Black and Becky of Maiden and two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Black Mosteller and Hal and Barbara Black Saunders and Randy all of Lincolnton; one sister, Sonja Black Hoyle of Cherryville; eight grandchildren, Diana, Melody, Randy, David, Michael, Charlie, Matthew and Bryan and eight great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Covenant Bible Church with the Rev. David H. Herbertson officiating.
Visitation will follow the Service.
Burial will be in the Black Family Section of Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
