Robert Daniel Earwood, 85, of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cherryville.

Born on April 10, 1941, in Cleveland County, Robert was a son of the late Morris Shuford Earwood and Annie Lee Jackson Earwood. A skilled carpenter, he retired from Webber Construction after many years of dedicated service. Robert was a faithful member of Double Shoals Baptist Church and was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and devotion to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Mikey Tessneer; his brothers, Julius Earwood and Charlie Earwood; and his sisters, Martha Sue Clary, Jessie Lankford, and Linda Bailey.

He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-one years Diane Earwood; two sons, Robert Keith Earwood of Shelby and Mitchell Thad Earwood and wife, Kim, of Shelby; his sister, Patricia Ann Cody of Shelby; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelsi, Gage, Joshua, Krista, and Annagrace and four great grandchildren, Arlowe, Anson, Hollis, and Allie. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at Double Shoals Baptist Church, Shelby.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Double Shoals Baptist Church with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
