SHELBY- Robert Gerald Keim, 74 of Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Robert was born in Wooster, Ohio to the late Robert O. Keim and Dorothy Keim (Garrison). He
was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeff Buchanan.
Mr. Keim was a graduate of Garfield High School. He graduated with honors from The
University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Bob retired from his work as a data
analyst for companies such as Goodyear, Nortel, and Hanes companies. Bob touched many lives
with his friendly demeanor and warm smile. Like his father, Bob was a planter of trees, many of
which grace his current and previous homes. Bob supported numerous homeless shelters,
realizing that many of the clientele may be battling mental illness just as he had his entire adult
life. He also had a soft heart for dogs and cats and provided homes for many of his four-legged
children. Many domestic animal and wildlife organizations were supported heartily by Bob.
He is survived by his wife, Juli, of the home. Sisters Margaret Wirick (Dale), of West Liberty,
OH and Patricia Boger, Bayse, VA. three nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Clay-Barnette Funeral and Cremation, 1401 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby,
NC, on May 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to be held from 6:00 to
7:00 pm.
