On September 3, 2026, Robert (Bob) Harold Still was welcomed to his heavenly home after a courageous battle with a brain tumor, diagnosed on January 2, 2026. The family will miss this beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother until we are able to join him in Glory.


Born in Greenwood, SC, on March 8, 1962, Bob was the son of the late James Evon Still, Sr. and Elizabeth Olive Ziegler Still. He was a graduate of Shelby High School, Class of 1980, and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 1984.


Thoughts and memories of Bob remind us of his many admirable qualities and characteristics. He provided peace and tranquility in a happy home shared with his wife, Tina Bradley Still. He cherished his family including his children Kristin Still Clifton (Will), Tyler G. Jones (Amy), Elijah S. Jones, and his grandchildren Stella Kate Jones and Drexel Graham Jones. His home was always open to them, and they brought him smiles when no others could. In addition to the aforementioned relatives, Bob enjoyed deep, loving relationships with his brothers Jim Still (Sharon) and Mike Still (Alison); numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Clyde. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Ben Bradley (Margaret), Kathy Clark (Audey), Cynthia Hart (David, Diana Queen (Michael), John Bradley, Robbie Bradley, Lisa Cox (Rodney), and Sara Sisk (Rodney).


Bob made friends easily and carried with him lifelong friendships. Many of these special friends were by his side supporting him and his family as he transitioned from this life to life eternal.


He also loved his church families of First Baptist Church of Shelby and Drexel First Baptist Church where he served the Lord faithfully on numerous church committees.

He was an adventurous spirit and avid "Airstreamer" traveling many miles with family and his devoted, furry friend, Clyde.


He was an accomplished artist in the mediums of wood and photography. His furniture pieces decorate his home and the homes of relatives with walnut being his favorite wood to work. His photography has captured the love and fun times shared with family and friends over many years, and those photos were in turn then shared with their subjects, leaving a legacy of love.


He enjoyed hunting and fishing and then preparing and sharing meals from those harvests.

He was an excellent chef and grill master and considered himself a foodie, often-times planning vacations around favorite restaurant stops.


Bob was an astute observer and quick learner. These characteristics combined with those of perfectionism, strong will, and resolve led to his mastery of problem solving and engine repair. His automotive skills were outstanding and were responsible for the 40+ years of success of J& E Sales and Shelby Automotive.


His favorite colors were orange and purple, and he traveled to Clemson, South Carolina, frequently to support the Clemson Tigers football team.

Bob seemed to always have time to share his talents with his community and had a strong sense of civic duty which inspired his terms with Shelby City Council and other organizations.


His sense of humor will be sorely missed as he brought his unique point of view to everyday life and circumstances. And though he was always good for a laugh, he is also quoted as saving him "could fix anything from broken windows to broken hearts." He was also known to say that he could make the choice with his life to be either a fountain or a drain. Bob chose to be a fountain.


A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2026, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Shelby, with Pastor Asher Panton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service.
