Robert Lee Parker


Mr. Robert Lee Parker, 88, of  710  Parkview Street, passed away  on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. A memorial service was held in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Interment followed in Sunset Cemetery.
Mr. Parker served our country in the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maggie Mauney Parker; his  parents, Perry Green and Ethel Morrison Parker; one brother, Jack Parker; two sister-in-laws, Lillian Mauney Parker, Rachel Wright Parker; a brother-in-law, Martin Nanney and two nephews, John Parker and Bruce Clark.
Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Annette Parker of Shelby, five brothers, James “Buck” Parker of Shelby, A.C. “Tom” Parker and wife Joyce of Shelby, P. G. “Speed” Parker and wife Lib of Shelby, Glenn “Vop” Parker and wife Jo of Lattimore, Billy Dean “Jake” Parker of Shelby, five sisters, Margaret “Sis” Parker Williams of Greensboro, NC, Jewel “Susie” Parker Clark of Shelby, Joanne Parker Nanney of Shelby, Mary Parker Denton of Lattimore, Betty Parker Greene and husband Herb of Granite Falls, NC, 17 nieces and nephews, a very special nephew, Cliff Harrison of Rockwall, TX, a very special niece Laura Harrison Robinson of Flat Rock, NC, a special great-great nephew Quinton Robinson of Asheville, NC, and a special great-great niece Abbigail Grace Elizabeth Robinson of Flat Rock, NC.
