Robert Samuel Gibbs, 77, of Rehobeth Church Road, Shelby, passed away
Saturday December 23, 2018 at home.

Born July 21, 1941 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Burgin
Gibbs and Corrine Greene Gibbs. He was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist
Church where he formerly served as an usher and on the house and grounds
committee and was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture. He was a member of
the American Cattle Association, a cattle farmer, and enjoyed gardening and
working in his yard.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, William
Thomas Gibbs and one sister, Madge Ramsaur and husband Louie.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Suzanne Holland Gibbs; god
daughter, Lynn McSwain Piercy of Shelby; two god grandchildren, Michael
Gantt and Preslei Piercy; two brothers, Arnold Gibbs and wife Freda of
Shelby and Kenneth Gibbs of Shelby and sister-in-law, Joyce Gibbs of Shelby.

The visitation will be Wednesday December 26, 2018 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM
at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Thursday December 27, 2018 at 11:00AM at
Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chase Robinson
officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
