Robert W. "Bobby" Price, 64, of Shelby, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 2, 2025. He was a son of Doris Toney Scronce and the late Wilbur S. Price.


Bobby graduated from Burns High School in 1979. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he earned an undergraduate degree and a Masters degree in Fire Science and Industrial Technology. He retired from a career in industrial safety and fire science technology.


Throughout his life, he enjoyed both playing and watching sports. He took a keen interest in his nephew and nieces and his great nephew and nieces. He was known for his original birthday yard signs, telling jokes, and giving gag gifts.


Bobby is survived by his mother, Doris Toney Scronce, of Shelby, a brother, Andy S. Price and wife Mitzi, of Shelby, nephew, Dr. Andrew "Chase" Price and wife Joanne, of Cramerton, NC, two nieces, Megan Price Ernst and husband Teage, of Weaverville, NC, and Dr. Keri Price of Belmont, NC. he is also survived by one great-nephew and three great-nieces.


The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery.
