Ronald Lester Barrett

Born August 23, 1942 in Cleveland County, he was a son of Lester Barrett and Annie Maude Hoyle Barrett. Ronnie was retired from Standard Crankshaft as a welder and was a tax preparer. He was a member of Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church and a Red Cross Volunteer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Shuford Barrett and a brother, Frank Barrett. Survivors include his wife, Merle Turner Barrett; two sons, Danny Barrett and wife, Junie of Casar and David Barrett and wife, Tracy of Lawndale; daughter, Amy Carpenter and husband, Don of Lawndale; step son, Eric Turner of Lawndale; two step daughters, Linda T. Cook and Ann T. Kendrick both of Shelby; two brothers, Joe Barrett and Bill Barrett both of Lawndale; two sisters, Maven Hoyle of Fallston and Ann Crotts of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Shane Barrett, Dusty Barrett, Josh Barrett, Casey Carpenter, Kayla Barrett, Charlcy Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Taylor Barrett, Colton Barrett and Jonathan Barrett; step-grandchildren, Tanya Cook, Jonie Towery, Kelly Towery and Rob Kendrick; and great-grandchildren, Abby Greene, Khloe Barrett, Brookelann Barrett and Ayden Barrett.
