Mr. Ronald Matthew Mauney, 71 of 1730 Rehobeth Church Rd., Shelby, NC passed away Monday, September 6, 2010. Services were held at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Shelby. Burial followed in the church cemetery. 

Mr. Mauney was preceded in death by his parents, John Matthew and Rachel Jenkins Mauney.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shirley Daniel Mauney; 3 sons, Matthey Mauney of Shelby, John Mauney of Wilmington, NC, and Mark Crowder and wife Susan of Oriental, NC; his god-son, Alex Williams; 2 brothers, Harry Mauney and wife Diane, and Marc Mauney, all of Shelby; 1 sister-in-law, Mandy Mauney; 2 grandchildren; 2 aunts; and many loving nieces and nephews.
