Blacksburg - Ronald Wayne Hunter Sr., 69, of 304 Jumping Branch Road, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Born in Gastonia, NC, he was the husband of Tina Millwood Hunter and the son of the late William Franklin Hunter II and Betty Jean Presley Hunter. He formerly worked in construction and was the recipient of the Carnegie Medal for Heroism.

In addition to his wife, he his survived by his children, Michael Hunter (Everly), Ronald Hunter Jr., and William Pearson, his brother, William Hunter; his sister, Susie Hunter; his grandchildren, Brandon Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Emma Hunter, Grayson Hurley; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, April Michelle Hunter, and his brother, Ricky Hunter.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 pm at the residence of his son, Michael and Everly Hunter at 334 Cherokee Falls Road, Blacksburg, SC.
