Royce Bill Blalock, 74, of Shelby, passed away on Friday, June 05, 2026, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

He was born in Cleveland County on August 28, 1951, and was a son of the late John Dennis "Bill" Blalock and Gladys Smart Blalock.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Brenda Joyce Dixon Blalock; two daughters, Melinda Bridges and Michelle Smith; grandson, Glenn Scott Smith; three brothers, Morris Blalock, Clyde Owens and Earl Owens; and two sisters, Inez Yates and Shirley Hamrick

Royce is survived by two daughters, Tammy Sarratt and husband, Matthew of Shelby and Jackie Harrison of Greenville, Texas; six grandchildren, John Bridges and fiancée, Elizabeth, Jeannie Zurita and husband, Armondo, Andy Bridges and wife, Melissa, John Andrew Harrison, Jack Smith and wife, Lindsie, and Colin Sarratt and Zanna; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Bryson, Brooklyn, Will, Emmalin, Koleby, Bristol and Aurora.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Matthew Sarratt officiating.
