Ruby Francis Bruce


 Ruby Francis Bruce, 96, of 912 Blanton Street, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at her residence. A native of Cleveland County, she was born May 18, 1916, daughter of the late John and Ida McSwain Francis. She was a member of the Love’s Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Shelby. She loved to play Bridge and in her earlier years she was very active in the local VFW. The family would like to extend special gratitude to her doctor, Dr. Bobby Jones, Jr., who is now retired.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Bruce; one daughter, Brenda Leigh.

SURVIVED: She is survived by one daughter Nancy Domokos and husband Charles of Mt. Holly; one grandchild, Karen Leigh; one nephew, John Francis of Douglasville, GA; two nieces, Becky Skidmore and husband Bill and Susie Puckett all of Charlotte; extended family, Lossie Hambrick, Paulette Impinna, and joy Clements.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 1-2:00 pm Thursday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

CLERGY: Revs. Tony Tench and John McCluney.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.

MEMORIALS: Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
