Ruth Ann Love Smith, 74, passed away on March 9, 2013 at home.  Born in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late William Melvin and Emma Orr Love of Charlotte.  Ruth was a graduate of Kings Business College and retired as secretary/treasurer of Universal Agency, Inc.  She was a member of Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Charlotte.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Shelain Hawkins and husband Steve of Cherryville; a son, Kelvin Love and wife Arlene of Charlotte; grandchildren, Matthew Paxton, Kellie Hawkins both of Cherryville and Arlen J. Smith of Charlotte.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Charlotte.  A gathering of friends will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 10601 Moore’s Chapel Road, Charlotte, NC 28214.
