Sandra Byrd Sims, 57, of Shelby departed this life October 15, 2025 at Atrium Health Cleveland. She was born April 28, 1968 in Cleveland County to Betty Byrd and the late Henry (Tuie) Byrd Sr.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her grandmother's: Odessa Byrd and Mildred Calhoun, grandfathers: George Byrd and Max Elmore.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of twenty eight years Monty Sims and two sons Jabari and Christopher Sims of the home, her Mother Betty Byrd of Shelby, Mother-in-law Mary Sims of Shelby, three sisters: Shelia (Terry) Walls; Bridget (Ulysses) Tuft both of Shelby; and Beverly (Dwight) Ross of Sumter, SC. Three brothers: Kenneth (Gloria) Byrd; Henry (Vanita) Byrd and Daniel Byrd all of Shelby, two brother-in-laws: Demetrius Sims of Waco and Orlando (April) Goolsby, two sister-in-laws: Demetria Adams of Gastonia and Michelle Sims of McLeansville, one Uncle Odelle (Angeline) Byrd of Lawndale and Phillis Sims of Shelby, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend Cynthia Wilson.
Funeral Service was held Saturday October 25, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Lawndale with Pastor Chadwick Roseboro, Sr. Officiating and Words of Comfort by Elder Billy Houze . Interment at First Baptist Church of Lawndale Cemetery.
