In Loving Memory of Shelbie Jeane Church Wright, lovingly known as "Mawmaw," 86, of 2312 Union Highway Gaffney, SC 29340, passed away at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home on July 18, 2026, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 27, 1939, Shelbie was the daughter of the late Enoch Cicero Church Jr. and Lillie Mae Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Teresa Anne Beaver Williams, who passed away two days after Shelbie; her brothers, Johnny Church and Charles Miller; and a great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Anna Lee Hill.

Known affectionately as "Mrs. Shelbie" by generations of residents at Redwood Village Apartments, she served many years as the property's manager. She cared deeply for every tenant, treating many like family. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Shelbie is survived by her sister, Nancy Thompson; her granddaughters, Teisha Camp and husband, Chris; Danielle Pinkard (and fiancé Kevin); and Tiffany Williams (and fiancé, Keith); her great-grandchildren, Alexia Camp, Maeva Camp, and Beau Camp; one great-great-granddaughter, Abriella Hill; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and former tenants.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25th 2026 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25th 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney Chapel with the Rev. Jeffery Manning officiating.
