Shelby Lions Club Distributes 123,000 Lbs. Of Food
The Shelby Lions Club distributed 123,000 pounds of food to 6,643 individuals, representing 3001 households during the Spring Quarter Food Distribution. The event was held Monday, March 12th through Wednesday, March 14th at Cleveland County Fairgrounds. On Monday and Tuesday Lions loaded shipments onto vehicles to be taken to 54 churches and agencies. On Wednesday persons from 215 households came in person to the fairgrounds to receive the food. Twelve different commodities, including frozen chickens, canned vegetables, bags of rice, and bottles of orange and cranberry juice were distributed. Pictured: Lion J.D.
