Shirley Elizabeth Christian Smith, 71, of Casar, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover.

Born in Lee County on July 25, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Christian and Leola Knight Christian. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Broad Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and she loved to cook for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Dean and one grandson, Justin Howell.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Charles Ray Smith; children, Tommy Holder, Jr. of Casar, Timmy Smith of Golden Valley, Beverly Holder of Raleigh, Mary Ann Roy of Kansas City, Kansas, Susan Holder of Spring Lake, Tammy Smith of Casar and Tina Smith of Casar; three brothers, Johnny Christian, Ervin Christian and Cleveland Christian; two sisters, Dorothy Lowe and Thelma Reber; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
