Shirley Janell Toney Allen, 80 of Shelby passed away September 8, 2016 at
Hospice at Wendover.

Born December 9, 1935 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Blaine Toney and Villa Ivester Toney. She was retired from Fiber Industries.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and she volunteered at the
Senior Center in the kitchen.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry
Toney and Charles Toney and two sisters, Ann Lackey and Nell Hernandez.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Allen and wife, Sheila of Shelby; Jerry
Allen of Shelby; two daughters, Janie A. Gordon and husband, Danny of
Shelby and Sherry Blanton and husband, Robin of Fallston; brother, J.B.
Toney of Maryland; seven sisters, Jean Jones of Shelby, Margaret Ingram of
Morganton, Janet Meadows of Gainsville, FL, Gay Miller of Decatur, GA and
Nona Barrier and husband, Jim of Shelby; ten grandchildren, Nikki Enge and
husband, Brian, Ashley Crain and husband, Tim, Jana Goss and husband, Troy,
Kesha Ruppe and husband, Matt, Amanda Melton and husband, Clint, Kenneth
Allen, Jr. and wife, Brannon, Sarah-Jane Fitch, Emily Fitch, Taylor Allen
and Brooke Allen and seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Zoe, Cole, T.J., Tyson,
Tinley and Cora

Visitation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home. At other
times the family will be at the home of a son, Ken Allen, 698 W. Zion Church
Road, Shelby.

A funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Macky Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
