Shirley Marie Surratt Williams, 64, departed this life on June 13, 2026 in Shelby, NC.

She was born on December 28, 1961 in Cleveland County, NC to the late William Surratt and the late Carrie Twitty Surratt.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Surratt and Douglas Surratt; her nieces whom were dear to her, Angela Surratt and Lisa Gaston.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Kenneth Montrell Williams (Ashley Williams) of Elmira, NY, Aldrick Kamal Watson (Carmella Sarinana) of Lincolnton, NC, sisters Barbara Surratt of Cleveland, OH and Helena Surratt Toms (Chuck) of Lexington, NC; brothers Raymond Surratt and Ivan Surratt, both of Shelby, NC; grandchildren whom she absolutely adored, Collin, Bryson and Amiya Williams of Elmira, NY; Malaki and Imani Banks of Elmira, NY, Adrian, Elijah, Kayleigh and Khalil Watson of Lincolnton, NC; aunts, Laura Jamerson, Emma Lowery, and Margaret Surratt; special nieces Ykeisha Surratt Allen, Lauren Surratt and Arevia Wilson; special nephew Javas Lattimore; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Palmer Grove Baptist Church. Burial took place at the church cemetery.
