Mr. Sidney Raymond McMurry, 92, of Shelby, NC passed away   Monday, April 11, 2011. Services were held at Polkville Baptist Church. Burial followed in Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shelby, NC.
Mr. McMurry served our country in the U.S. Navy–WWII.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Lee McMurry; his second wife, Imogene Hamrick McMurry; his parents, Sidney Richard McMurry and Carrie Bell Reichard McMurry; and 1 son-in-law, Jim Langley.
He is survived by 2 sons, Dale McMurry and wife Mildred of Lawndale, and Jimmy McMurry and wife Lorena of Shelby; 3 daughters, Nancy Patterson and husband, Bobby Carroll of Shelby, Carolyn Hamrick and husband, Arthur and Diann Langley, both of Lawndale; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
