SKYLER JAMES PENNINGTON
Skyler James Pennington, 23, passed away early Saturday morning. He will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times.
Skyler was born on July 3, 1994. He spent his early years in Charlotte and after locating to Upper Cleveland County with his grandparents who were his guardians, became a true outdoorsman on the land he so loved. He was a graduate of Burns High where he was active in the Junior ROTC and attended Cleveland Community College. He became a welder but was accomplished in many areas including hunting, fishing, working on the farm and his prized Camaro.
Skyler enjoyed a diverse group of friends of all ages and was loved by all. Fiercely loyal to family and friends, he was a kind and gentle soul while being remarkably strong. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by great grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Don Pennington, Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. Glen Meade; grandmother Sudie Robinson; aunt, Stacy and uncle Ken.
He is survived by his cherished young son, Brenden; sisters, Dakoyta, Carlee, and Memorie; grandparents, Don and Patsy Pennington; mother, Alice Gilliam; father, Michael English; grandmother, Vineta Pennington; uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Dianne Morrison; and cousins, Kelli, Danny, and Leslie as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
A celebration of life service will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar, with the Revs. Keith Fulbright and Doug Pruett officiating.
