Spartanburg -- Stephen Anthony Parker, 72, of 235 Mosspoint Circle, but formerly of Blacksburg, passed away on Friday, January 16th, 2026, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Raised in Blacksburg, he was the son of the late W.F. and Virgie Spencer Parker. Stephen was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, where he was inducted into the BHS Football Hall of Fame, and Gardner Webb University. He retired from Fluor Construction and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Parker are a brother, Fred Parker, and wife, Vicki, a nephew, four nieces, a great-nephew, and three great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Parker Blankin, and a niece, Inge Nicole Parker.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026, from 1:00-2:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
