Susan Irene Carswell Davis, 83, of Lawndale, passed away on September 4, 2026.



Susan was born on March 21, 1943 in Burke County, to the late Van and Annie Carswell. She was retired from Mr. Sweet in Kings Mountain. Susan was a member David's Chapel Church. She loved to cook, can different vegetables, spend time in her flower gardens but especially loved spending time with her family and friends.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Larry Joe "Joey" Davis; daughter, Vickey Newton and her husband, Jeff; brothers, Ross, Nelson, Reece, Robert, J.B., Fred, James and Loyd Carswell and two sisters, Fannie Cope and Zennie Carswell.



Susan is survived by her son, Joel Davis and wife, Rhonda of Lincolnton; sister, Jane Cable and husband, Gordon of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Nicole Whitener and husband, Aaron and Zachary Davis and wife, Melissa and four great-grandchildren, Blaze, Adalyn, Julian and Kox.



The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:15pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.



A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 2:30pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Forrestene Sain officiating.



Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston.
