Mrs. Sylvia Annette Horne, 68, departed this life on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones as she went to her eternal home to be with the Lord. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, on May 20, 1957, to the late Leon Surratt and Betty Lindsey Surratt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Elaine, Tina, and Judy McClain Surratt.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Gary Horne of Mooresboro; daughters, Tamara Horne of the home and Tyra Horne of Shelby; brothers, Gregory Surratt of Lawndale, Chris Surratt of Shelby; four grandchildren, Diquan Spikes, Damean Spikes, Darius Horne, Miricale Spikes, and other beloved relative and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at at Mundy's Chapel United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
