Terry "Kris" Champion, 69, of Shelby, NC passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Robert Wendell and Alice Wall Humphries.

Kris was in the 1974 graduating class of Crest High School. She went on to work for 30 years in the mortgage department at First National Bank. She will be remembered for her enormous sense of humor, her love for Yankee's baseball, and never failing to be there for her family. She was an unsung hero, one that will be greatly missed by all that had the opportunity to know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Humphries, nephew, Brandon, Quintero, and her beloved dog, Snoopy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sara Champion, sister, Tammy Quintero, brother, Dwayne "Boo" Humphries, granddaughter, Olivia Cox, and nephew Derek Quintero.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30PM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private graveside service will follow at Zoar Baptist Church.
