For the fourth year, Victorian Rose Studio and artist Phillip Philbeck are working together to donate a framed print of Phillip's artwork to the Cleveland County Boys & Girls Club. "Dad started this tradition with Jack Weller at the Boys & Girls Club four years ago. He wanted to help a youngster have the chance to participate in the Jack Schweppe Summer Day Camp." explained Tracy Stilwell, Elwin's daughter. At last year's auction the donated framed print brought over $300 or the cost of having one child participate in the Jack Schweppe Summer Day Camp program.
This year's print, titled Secret Places, is a close-up scene of a quite wooded stream on a summer day with a deer coming to take a drink. The picture will be part of the annual Car Raffle and Auction held Friday, June 17 starting at 6:30pm at Goforth Hall, Cleveland County Fairgrounds, Shelby. Contact the Boys & Girls Club at 704 482 3258 to purchase a ticket for the Car Raffle which is your entry to the auction.
