Tony Joe McDaniel, 66, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

Tony was born on October 1, 1958 in Cleveland County and was a son of Frank McDaniel of Shelby and the late Verl Virginia Mellon McDaniel Cash. He was a retired long haul driver and member of Palm Tree Church, Lawndale.

In addition to his father, Tony is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Cathy Stamey McDaniel; daughter, Sherry McDaniel Davis and husband Deon Davis of Shelby; stepdaughter, Jennifer Cole of Maiden; brother, Mark McDaniel; stepbrothers, Donnie, Robert and Will Putnam; stepsister, Elizabeth Cole and husband Gary of Mooresboro; granddaughter, Deondrea Davis; two step-granddaughters, Haley and Mekenzie Cole and two great-grandchildren, Braylin and Breondria Davis.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Wade Dellinger officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
