Town of Boiling Springs, NC Announces New Police Chief Brian DiYorio and promotion of Lt. Jonathan Gantt
September 17, 2025, The Town of Boiling Springs is delighted to announce Brian DiYorio as the Town's next Police Chief. DiYorio will join the Boiling Springs Police Department beginning in October 2025. A graduate of Appalachian State University, DiYorio began his career as a Patrol Officer in South Carolina before joining the City of Gastonia Police Department. Having served in various capacities with the City of Gastonia Police Department (GPD), DiYorio has led multiple specialized units including crisis negotiations, tactical units, and community-oriented policing units. Immediately prior to his transition to Boiling Springs Police Department, DiYorio served as a Lieutenant and Watch Commander with GPD. DiYorio will be joined by long-time Boiling Springs Police Department Detective Sergeant, Jonathan Gantt, who has been promoted to Lieutenant. As the Department's Lieutenant, Gantt will serve as second-in-command of Police operations, notably including the Department's community-oriented policing strategy. Town Manager Zachary Parker stated "I could not be more excited to welcome Chief DiYorio to this position. Additionally, the promotion of now-Lieutenant Gantt to a critical leadership role within the Department will bring valuable institutional and community knowledge to the leadership team. Both DiYorio and Gantt are excited about the direction of the Town, care deeply about the community-oriented approach to police philosophy, and understand the needs of modern police departments."
