Miss Wanda Frances Kay Sheppard age 41 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Born August 18, 1969 in Charlotte, NC she was the daughter of Betty Shoemaker Sheppard of the home and the late John Elmo Sheppard, Sr.

In addition to her mother Wanda is survived by one sister Betty Shelton and husband Jeffery, two brothers John E. Sheppard, Jr. and Steven E. Sheppard; one niece Cheyenne Shelton, one nephew Cody Shelton, one aunt Wanda Roelkey, five uncles William Shoemaker, Charles Shoemaker, Kenneth Shoemaker, Daniel Shoemaker and George Sheppard. A number of cousins and other family members also survive.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by grandparents Arthur and Georgie Shoemaker, grandparents Roy and Kathleen Sheppard and Aunt Peggy Ahalt.

Wanda was an employee of Townhouse Motel for a number of years and was a graduate of Crest High School. She enjoyed being around people. Her goal was to make others smile and laugh.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 PM Sunday May 22, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church 606 South Dekalb St. Shelby, NC with Rev. Daniel Shoemaker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
