William Haven Thompson, III
He was educated in the Hartford, CT public schools followed by degrees from Colby College and the University of Connecticut. He was drafted into the Army and served in Korea with the 45th Infantry Division as a Sergeant. Following military service he worked in two insurance organizations followed by a 30 year career with the DuPont Company as a Safety, Fire Protection, and Environmental Engineer, finishing at the Philips and DuPont joint venture plant in Grover, NC. Upon his retirement he enjoyed many years as a member of the Senior Golf Association of Cleveland County. SURVIVORS: Wife of 55 years: Patricia Adams Thompson,
