Kings Mountain – Mr. William Norwood Macon, Sr., 78, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Macon was born in Bladen County, NC on March 23, 1934, a son of the late Sherman Macon and Annie Settlemyre Macon.  He was retired from Duke Power.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Ann C. Macon of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, William Norwood Macon, Jr. and Teresa, Anthony Jay Macon and Teresa, and James David Brock and wife Rebecca; two daughters, Beth Dye and husband D.W. and Kim Carawan; three brothers, Terry Macon and wife Nellie, Bobby Macon, and Milton Macon and wife Cindy; one sister, Anne Melvin and husband Pat; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a very special cat, Miss Kitty.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Macon and a sister, Frances Owen.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 12:45 to 1:45pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cherryville.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Brooks officiating.
